my wedding dress...

So i have an interesting story to tell all of you.
and its about my dress.
my...wedding dress.

First of all, when i started looking online for dresses, I started looking online & on craigslist because I didn't want to spend alot on a dress [who does, right]. Its not something that i've been dreaming about for my whole life, and i didn't even know the different types of dresses there were out there. Basically, I was just planning on renting a dress and selling it later..

Second, Wade and I went to Utah to meet up with his sister and her family for conference weekend ! Darren and Carrie, who are Wades parents, drove from Boise to come watch conference with us. While the boys were at the priesthood session, we [carrie, dawn karley, me & tyson] went to the mall to pass some time. We wandered into a dress store and decided to try some one. I tried on dresses that were 900$,800$ dollar dresses...just because I could. I tried on about 15, and narrowed the types of dresses i liked down to two. The girl that was helping me was a college aged girl, really nice, and made the experience really fun. She mentioned to us that if we bought a dress that night, they would take off 50$ off the price, because it was a "girls night out" [i guess utah does weird things like that for conference weekend ;)] anyway..i wasnt planning on buying a dress that was more than 500$ so, i told the girl that, and she said.."okay, i'll go ring get the model numbers, and you can decide what you want to do with them when you get back to Idaho Falls.."

Third, I follow her up to the register so she can get my number/model/size for the card she was going to hand me. I watch her, and she looks at the dress..looks at the computer...looks at the dress....gets a confused look on her face...goes and talks to her manager...comes back..looks at the dress..computer...dress....me.

fourth, she says.."I guess this dress is only 250? It used to be on our summer line and now the price is reduced..."

fifth.. this is my face it went from
:D - Because i LOVE that dress. love love love loved it. 850 dollar dress for 250..??!
then it looked like this...
:| - because i wasnt with my mom. I wanted my mom to be there when i bought my wedding dress!? I had no intentions of buying a dress that day!? Mom got off work the next day so we could go look at them together...?!
then it went to this
:(
and then went like this
:'(

and i start crying in the middle of the store because i dont know what to do.
it would be ridiculous not to buy this dress.
absolutely ridiculous.
..but was it worth it?

so here, me & carrie (wades mom) are just sitting in the store crying
and the girl helping me was crying because she heard this story...and she was like.."i dont even care if you buy the dress, i just hope you do the right thing.."
and thennnn..
she says.."but dont forget, if you buy a dress tonight, its 50$ off..."
oh.my.lanta.

so i call my mom, and she starts crying, and i just cant take it anymore.
so i put the dress on hold.
walked out of the store.
[by this point, im tired, stressed..drained, ECT]

and i say a prayer.
and then walk back into the store
and bought the dress
and the total for my 'dream wedding dress'
was 216.00$
...really?

okay, its beautiful.
and everything worked out with my mom.
and shes happy i bought it
and thats all.

Karly, I will probably be a blog follower now. You got me hooked with the dress story. It's beautiful. I'm glad you found one that you loved for cheap. I bet your mom loves it too. She is amazing! I am so happy for you and your wedding! Happy November to you!

What an amazing story! That is incredible! Mine cost about $800 for the dress, alterations, hoop skirt, veil and tiara.... and I paid for it all myself. You got sooooo lucky. I actually never even tried mine on. I ordered it online... how lame am I?
