so i've been thinking {see cheesy picture above} valentines day could be a really fun holiday, if you're in love. if you're in "like" its an awkward holiday, and if you're single, it could be treacherous, (aka both examples of me my whole life). but since i'm in love(ha, isnt that funny), i want to do something. but i don't know what? i've been thinking and reading numerous blogs and thinking some more and ...reading more blogs, and listening to others' ideas. but it keeps going in one ear and out the other, because what works for someones lover, might not necessarily work for yours. annd, everyone has a different perception on valentines day. i mean, i grew up and it was this fun thing, like my mom would buy me and my sisters a cute pink shirt (up until i was a senior in highschool, dead serious) and we'd frost heart cookies and spend hours making valentines for our classmates (yep, up until i was a senior) ..joking. but i loved it. but for wades family, it wasn't really a big deal, and he doesnt like it that much. he thinks its cheesy and girly. and it is. if you look at it that way. what do you think about valentines day? what did you guys do as kids? are you more of a karly or a wade in this situation? i'm curious, because when valentines day comes around, i hear more hate about the holiday when i think thats just ironic..? right? i want to hear your stories about your best/worst valentines day ever.
(this may or may not be one of my longest posts, shhh)

you two are very cute!!!! love the smooch pic, he SO means business with that love smack.
i know what you mean about the v-day slippery slope and have been in both spots too. this year we're doing it very low key, quiet dinner at home....um, heck ya cake will be involved. i would have to say i'm a mixed bag of you both, kinda love the pretty decorations and sweet treats but really it could be any day of the year and i'd be into it too.
my best v-days really were from childhood, like you. many a sweet smelling kitchen baking sesh made me very happy for sure. wishing you a wonderful weekend lades and thanks so much for visiting. ♥
I love it for the sheer crafts and candies :) My mom and dad always made me special valentines too so I like that. I think my boyfriend could care less about the day, and I've never cared about the "romantic" side of it either.
By the way, what exactly is your necklace? I can't see it well, but it looks really cool!

I've actually always loved VDay...and I've only had a date on it once! This year I'm not gonna lie, it'd be nice to have a date, but I'm new to NYC and I'm IN LOVE with it. So the city is my Valentine :)
It's not a very big over here, although all the shops try hard to sell stuff!! Neither my Dad or my bf are into it. I usually just get my bf a card, and this year I'm gonna make him his favourite snack - scones...heart shaped ones of course ;)

I just find it another day to spoil my lovah!!! I love doing things for Jim and this year I think I am going to make a little book about all the posts I wrote fir the 28 reasons I loved him for 28 days!!! Just a cure thought! But I did hate VDAY growing up cause all my girliefriends had boyfriends that would send them flowers at work and mushy crap Luke that, then I'd get home and have to see it all, or I wad the one to sign that little piece of paper from the flutist when they brought it to our dorm, so depressing!!! But now that'd I have my own sweetheart I love it cause I get to smooch on him all the time!!!!!! Aaaahhhh
I meant to day "him" at the beginning oh that post promise LOL
I'm posting this on my iPhone at midnight so the spelling is horrible sorry!!! Luv ya Kar

absolutely more of a Kar... hey maybe that's because I actually am a Car-issa hehehe.... but seriously my mom has gone a little overboard for V-day my whole life.
Before my boyfriend passed away it was kind of a big thing for us too because we lived far apart by February every year so it was a good chance to send some love in the mail!
I got my boyfriend a huge chocolate dipped fortune cookie with a personalized fortune like 4 years ago. Not only did he love it, but so did his roomies lol
I am totally single and still love this day!

Hmmm, well here's my little "two cents" on Valentine's Day. I'm all about holidays and decorating for them and everything, but for some reason this year I have not been excited about it. I'm crazy. Kevin is like Wade, he doesn't really care much for it. I think this year we've "kinda" mutually decided to not get gifts. Just time and a little note or something. Ha! Who knows.... :)
Funny, sounds like me and Scott. I don't think it was big for Scott (can you blame him? it's all a bunch of boys! His poor mom!) But for me, my mom would always do stuff. Sometimes she'd make me my own heart shaped cake. She's put together little girly gifts with some of my fav candies. She still buys us all a little something and it's always been a bigger holiday(could be because I was scheduled to be born c-section then but she went into labor at her dr appt a week early). Scott and I have tried to do stuff in the past. Since we had Charlotte we stay at home and I try to cook up a nice dinner and do dessert then convince Scott I need a massage (go me!). This year Scott and I have bball practice with the youth so that's about as exciting as it'll get this year. It's hard to do much when you have no money. Maybe next year! I really like this idea though. Hopefully I can try when Charlotte gets older! http://www.ourbestbites.com/2011/02/valentine-breakfast-surprise.html
