(daaaaang.)
be your childrens mother and your husbands girlfriend..yes, thats right. your husbands girlfriend. which is you, and me i guess! doesn't that make you think? dr. laura mentions this quite a bit and i thought i'd touch on a few of the things. i think they're pretty legitimate, so here goes:1) Flirt with him- like, back in the day. remember, dropping hints that they didn't understand, the lingering eye contact, the slight nudge, winking, ect ect. except, now you're like pro, because well, you know what he likes and what he doesnt.
2) be playful- like, when you used to be able to stay up til 2 a.m because you were with him. never take these times for granted. do things together that you loved to do while you were dating. who was the wise guy that made it a rule that since you were married you had to stop doing those things?
3) be careful with your appearance- my mom always told me and i learned a a lot from her example was to never let your husband come home from work and see you without at least showering. no matter how much housework you've been doing, or how busy you've gotten, never let your husband come home to a ...stinky per say wife. ;) think back to when you were dating, would you have ever gone out on a date with him in sweats? not this woman. (although i would have if i wasn't trying to impress him so much...hahah)
4) He had top billing in my life- and by top billing i mean, i was never too busy to go on a date with him, even if i really was.
5) passion?- love to hold hands, love kisses on the cheeks, love to share, love to do things for each other!

I am not married so I hope it's ok for me to be agreeing with this!
I would freak out if my boyfriend of FOUR YEARS saw me without my hair straightened... or hair not straightened but make-up on... weird pet peeve but if I love my hubs as much as I loved him (which I plan to) I think it'll be the same.
You are such a cute, fun lady your hubs is quite lucky!

Lucky for me Scott works a lot so its usually pretty easy to get dressed by like 5pm (even if I don't get dressed until 3...) but I do love when he comes home for lunch every now and again and i'm busy in my grubbies cleaning and he tells me how hot I look with my hair all messed up in my sweats. He's sweet.
And the flirty thing... Scott makes fun of me sometimes. I tell him that I'm still allowed to flirt with him even though he's my husband because I think he's just as cute as he was when I first met him. Plus its just fun. Gotta keep that romance alive! Love the post!
TOTALLY important, and I TOTALLY agree! And I think it's funny you mentioned Dr. laura, because my mom ALWAYS used to listen to her. I think that's why I like her so much too. She's just brutally honest.
Love this post and it's very important and makes total sense... although I don't think neither of us could stay up until 2AM like we used to. Between a 3yr old and both full time jobs... we're lucky if our eyes are still open by 9:30 LOL
I love this post Kar!!! We are going on 14 years, holy moly huh!!! I like to think we still have "that" spartk and these are all things we still try to do!!! but the staying up till 2 is out the window!!! even when we are on vacations we spend the first day just sleeping!!!! You r amazing!!! luv you munches!!!!

This is beautiful Karly! Such a great reminder :) Thank you!
This is such a great post Karly!! Thank you for the simple reminder. Some times the everyday routine takes you away from those first time jitters and passion you had in the beginning.
Have a great night pretty girl!! :)
100% agree! I remind myself of this now too! I figure if I'm conscious about it now, early on, then I can conquer any sweats only-wearing-no-showering-or-shaving-bump on a log-craziness that might occur later on in marriage:-) xoxo
So true! Love it!
LOVE this!!
As a newly wedded bride it's easy to still be flirty and playful..but i have to admit i've already fallen into some not so great habits, such as.. throwing on (my not so figure flattering) sweats just as soon as i walk in the door from work.
It's good to have a relaxing day here and there but mine, just might be too frequent.
Thanks for the friendly reminder to whip myself back into shape... haha!!
this is soo cute!! Im printing it out and keeping it in my Journal! love the header of your blog!
