So, let me tell you about my life right now.
and by right now, i mean right this second.
right now, i'm sitting at work doing the office part of it
{checking in kids who come to see the counselors}
anyways, so picture me. sitting behind the desk.
this crazy lady walks in with her two kids.
& by crazy, i actually mean she has three missing teeth,
a speech impediment, bright red hair & is letting her child
ring the bell {the bell to get someones attention if they aren't
at the desk, which clearly I am. }twenty thousand times.
20,000=about 25
& run around like a freaking psycho!
& run around like a freaking psycho!
anyways. while this is stressing me out, the mother is not
doing anything except saying,
"okay sweetheart, that's enough.."
"honey, honey, honey, no."
"okay, time to stop dear"
{which of course he is not listening}
..oh, good. we turned on spongebob and now he is occupied.
...3 minutes later...
gets the toys out of the bin & chucks a metal airplane at my foot.
{twice}
{twice}
then the mother in me says, in a slightly irritated tone.
"Joey, that not okay, I will take the airplane and keep it on my desk, thanks!"
[p.s his name is not joey, and no, i am not a mother]
then he precedes to try to crawl under, over, & around my desk to get the toy.
then his mom looks up from her iphone & says, "I'm really sorry about him."
then precedes to play her angry birds or whatever it is.
..so annoyed.
then the little boy tells me that his dad is in jail.
and i feel bad for one second.
but thats all, because i guess i'm just a meany.
i guess the moral of this story is..
kids will be kids.
but parents need to DO THEIR JOB!
i did find this little number, which i absolutely 100% agree with.

Good article! It's nice to know that even at Charlotte's young age she's already doing some of that stuff. Makes me feel a little bit better because I wonder about her. Charlotte's pretty "active" I guess is the nice way to say it. Most people would probably say hyper :) and she is not afraid to scream or cry in public when you make her unhappy which makes me feel like an even more awesome mom. Oh the joys of parenting. If I were you though I would've wanted to sit on that little kid and pin him to the ground. Then grabbed the mom's phone and thrown it out the door. You can almost lose yourself in a daydream thinking of all the ways you could have handled that... sadly most would probably end in termination :)
Awww, sweetie, sorry about your rough morning. Hope it gets better for you. There are definitely times that I wish some parents did a better job of disciplining and controlling their kids.
