fourth of july!

The fourth of July is the best holiday ever! I love it more than I love Christmas! Or my birthday! It's so fun in Idaho Falls, and I wouldn't even consider the fireworks at the end of the night the best part! (But they are pretty awesome!) Since Wade and I have been married, we've ran the firecracker 5k in the morning (2012 firecracker HERE and 2011 Firecracker HERE!) I thought about maybe walking it this year since there was no way I would be able to run it (ha, the thought just makes me laugh!) But then I was thinking that would be boooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiing, and I would finish like ten years after all my peeps! So I just decided to save the $25 and take pictures of everyone. As I saw the thousands of people running and coming in to the finish line, I started getting excited. I love the running community, and I love when everyone is cheering everyone on and the runners are tired but they keep going. Been there, running is HARD! I miss it tons though!

After the firecracker, we hung around and ate muffins and bagels and all that and waited for the parade to start. I don't know if its because I was pregnant and I was so hot & tired of sitting or what, but the parade seemed super lame this year. I was so over it by the 30th float (there was 129 this year!) So anyways, after that was over, we went back to the house to change and get ready for the day. AKA that involved me taking a cat nap because we all know that even watching people run makes you tired! :) Then we met up with our friends and went to the lake with the jetskis. The ballards, Klinglers and Parmers all hung out with us and we had yummy kabobs! We hung around at the lake for a bit, then went home to grab our bikes and we biked around the river for the rest of the night! We sat by the Wolf's right under the fireworks, and they were pretty amazing! (Side note: They didn't start the fireworks at 9 because some crazy people decided to swim in the river and one never came back up? Sad huh!?)

Speaking of death and dying (sorry!) We live about 2.5 miles away from the river, so we just ride our bikes and avoid the traffic. But really, I'm not kidding, I almost died coming home! some old guy didn't see us in his car and he had to slam on his breaks at the intersection. Scariest day of my life. Wade just told me he looked back and closed his eyes and didn't know what was going to happen.

It was a good, busy day! The next morning, we had to be up at 6:00 because we were traveling to Utah to be with Wades family for little Kar Kar's baptism that weekend!
