oh ivy...

man, being a mom is hard work! Before I had Ivy, I would always look at stay at home moms and want nothing more than to stay at home, make dinner for my husband, blog, clean, and take care of my baby! Now don't get me wrong, I love doing all those things, but time goes by too quickly! By the time I get done nursing and folding a batch of laundry, its time to give her a bath and do the dishes, study for my math test, feed her again, find sometime to eat something decent, run an errand or two, feed her again and all the sudden wade is home and where the heck did the day go? And those are the days that I have energy.
Poor Ivy, this last week...I love that little girl so much, and wish I knew what to do! She will be fine and happy one minute and then curled up in a ball with a tight tummy grunting and screaming the next. I've tried massaging her tummy, putting her legs up to her stomach, gas drops, warm baths, pressure on her tummy...it's just something that she almost has to deal with by herself by crying it out. I've tried everything, feeding her, swaddling her, burping her...I've been watching what I eat because I think something in the breastmilk might be setting her off. I hope we can figure it out soon, because I don't know how many more nights I can wake up at 2 and stay awake with her til 7:00 listening to her cry out in pain. Saddest thing ever.. Last night, after I had tried just about everything, I just sat her in her crib and stared at her, crying her lungs out, telling her I loved her and just want to help her..

Anyway, we'll work through it. Tomorrow is a new day. :)

I feel your pain!!! Keetley is having some issues right now where she just cries and cries, won't nurse, grinds her gums (is that possible?!) and is generally unhappy. She has only cried about 6 times in her life until this last week. We just gotta love em and help em best we can!

Is it colic? My sister had that and thank goodness she was born in the summer otherwise I would have been super tired at school because she was always just crying and crying and crying at night. I've heard gripe water is supposed to help soothe their tummy. Something you could try or if she has an appt coming up talk to her dr about it. Good luck!

Oh and I've heard logging your food and what time you eat it and all that will help especially if you meet with her dr to help figure out if something is triggering it. :)
