This weekend we went to Island park with brock and amy! I didn't even bring my camera. what the heck? yeah i know. it was fun though, good to just get away for a little bit, ya know? we went and hung out at their cabin, played lots of games. i won at settlers! what the heck? i'm just a newb at that game. PSYCH. :] also fell in love with a new game called Corsari. I'm a game freak! Others on my list include but are not limited to 5 crowns, ripple, golf, phase ten and bonanza. we went on a little hike and drove back on a crazy bumpy road. i thought amy was going to have her baby right then and there. ;) we also saw three moose's. moosen. moose people, three moose!
Today i taught my first lesson as the beehive adviser. it went pretty well, the topic was along the lines of "how can women and those with the priesthood work together to build the kingdom of God." Our ward is doing a trial manual from the first presidency. We dont go by the manual anymore, we have an outline and the girls basically teach. I had a couple things planned out and had an idea of how the lesson was supposed to go, but it went in a completely different direction and it worked out well!
This week at work, we started a new "cooking unit" where we teach the kids about good eating habits and good cooking skills (i.e washing your hands before you touch anything....etc) this week we made a rainbow cake. that was really interesting. the first cake got completely destroyed. the second one worked like a champ. I don't know why they put me in charge of this kind of stuff, don't they know that cereal and ramen make up half of my meals? Actually that is another joke. We're getting better! :) I promise the last one worked out, but i didn't save the picture!
we've also been attending the chukars games like crazy. we love baseball and we love going. We bought a packet of 10 tickets for Christmas last year, and were excited to use them, but every time we decide we want to go to the game, there has been someone who has offered us their tickets! We have been to four games this year, so we would have used 8 tickets already, but we havent had to use any yet! Pretty awesome, I guess!

Whaaa?! You won at settlers? haha I....NEVER win. dangit. That sounds like it was so nice to get away. Someday I want to have a cabin to go to, to get out in nature all year round!
New manual? Sounds awesome! The current ones are kinda outdated. I wish we could do that! And I wish there were people like you teaching my nieces and nephew about good eating habits and cooking skills. If it can't be heated in a microwave or eaten cold they probably won't eat it. They're home alone all summer and after school so they are kinda stuck to fend for themselves with nobody to teach them anything. So sad! Those are some lucky kids to have such an awesome teacher! :)
