a year ago, and a year from now

A year ago from this time, wade and I were both in school. I was taking some of my favorite classes and staying busy with my photography business. I remember having a conversation with Wade about what we were going to do when we graduated and when we would start having kids. It all seemed so far in the distance that it was hard to talk about because it was hard to picture...hard to picture we might be done with the college phase of our lives and hard to picture allowing someone else to join our twosome of a family. We talked about Wade going to grad school and pursuing his degree in Marriage and family counseling. We also talked a lot about continuing my own education in some kind of teacher/administration. It's fun to talk about things like that, but there really wasn't any kind of plan. We were enjoying our time together, the two of us, being married college students and being spontaneous, going here, going there with whomever we wanted.

Fast forward a year later (a short year later, I might add!) Wade is graduated and I'm finished with everything (minus my student teaching). Grad school said "this isn't for you at this time, try again later." The state said "Wade, we need you to certify and pursue life in this direction right now." and Heavenly Father told us "It's time to create a new member of your family" And while these things were never said directly to us, that's how we interpreted them, and here we are.. Ready to welcome a new baby into our cute little house. Wade is excited and excelling in his new job, & I'm more than ready to take a break in a short month from my own job to start a new one; being a stay at home mom!

In a year from now, who even knows where we will be. It's hard to even think about it, because I haven't even had the baby, and in a year, she will be a YEAR OLD. That sounds ridiculous, but one year she's not even thought of, the next, she's in my tummy about ready to burst, and the next year she's walking and talking and...who knows what else. How can a person even expect to know what will happen in a year? I can only guess! Maybe we will apply for grad school again. Hopefully I will be done with student teaching. Maybe we will be in Boise in a different house. Or Arizona. Or Pocatello. Who knows?

And because no post is complete without a picture, this is my most recent one that I haven't posted yet. I'm actually 35 weeks 4 days, but haven't taken a picture this week! We'll probably go take some maternity pictures soon! :)

its crazy to think about what will happen in a year... to think about me being a mom to two little girls blows my mind! Will we still be in North Carolina? or will we be back on the West coast or even weirder... a different country. But really its all such an exciting adventure!
